This Halifax kitchen remodel created an inviting entertaining space that reads as both modern and organic, pairing contemporary styling with natural wood. Light grey Shaker cabinets and white quartz countertops surround a crafted wooden island with side storage, joined by brass accents, fluted pendant lights, wooden floating shelves and a warm white tile backsplash. The main challenge was adding real storage without closing the room in or blocking the natural light coming from the windows and doors around its perimeter. Warm wood tones on the island and open floating shelves in place of solid upper cabinetry preserved the sightlines, and an underused wall became a built-in drinks centre with a wine fridge, coffee station and accent lighting. The result is a kitchen that works as hard for everyday cooking as it does for hosting.
