Inspired by the homeowner's fashion background, this Halifax condo renovation transforms a primary ensuite into a couture-inspired sanctuary. The design creates a "runway" effect, with porcelain tile draping from the shower walls onto the bathroom floor and flowing seamlessly into a walk-through closet, unifying the two rooms and making the most of the 10-foot ceilings. The centrepiece is a fully custom-tiled shower with a built-in bench, integrated niche, seamless glass and champagne bronze rainfall and hand-held fixtures. A custom-painted vanity topped with gold-veined quartz and a hands-free bidet balance high-fashion aesthetics with everyday utility. The principal challenge was a complete lack of natural light in a windowless room that also felt cold underfoot. A strategic lighting plan built around a touch-activated backlit mirror and high-efficiency LEDs delivers a boutique glow with precision lighting for makeup, while electric in-floor heat runs throughout both the bathroom and the walk-in closet.
